ABS-CBN News map</div>MANILA &mdash; The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said the blocking of a large convoy of mostly armed Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) members at a checkpoint in Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte was due to an issue in coordination.PNP spokesperson Police Col. Allan Rae Co said there was no prior coordination for the entry into the province of more than 100 members of the MILF 131st Brigade aboard 23 vehicles and five motorcycles, prompting authorities to stop them at the checkpoint.Based on the investigation, the group of Commander Longa from Lanao del Sur was supposed to attend an event at the camp of Commander Bravo in Lanao del Norte.However, Co said the group failed to present necessary documents for their travel to the neighboring province.&quot;Meron naman silang prior coordination, but ang prior coordination nila was made only for the movement inside Lanao del Sur. So, no&#39;ng lalabas at pupunta sila sa Lanao del Norte, hinarang sila ng PNP kasama ng Philippine Army para po sa kaligtasan na rin ng publiko at lahat ng involved,&quot; Co told reporters at Camp Crame.Those who were armed were escorted back to their origin in Picong, Lanao del Sur to avoid any possible disruption and ensure public safety and proper coordination.Five vehicles carrying unarmed civilians were allowed to cross.Co added that no confrontation or violence took place, and that the group had no other intention except to attend an MILF gathering.&quot;Sa nakikita natin, initially ay konti lang na hindi pagkakaintindihan.
