Arthur Fuentes, ABS-CBN News </div><div> </div>BORACAY, Aklan -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology again threw its support behind moves to put the 2026 Budget on blockchain saying this will help curb corruptionDICT Secretary Henry Aguda also said the agency is exploring the use of artificial intelligence to expose possible anomalies in government projects and procurement.Speaking at the annual CXO Tech Summit in Boracay, which gathers tech industry and business leaders, Aguda also allayed concerns that the move to put the 2026 Budget on blockchain will lock the government onto a single vendor for the technology.Aguda said they are in talks with the blockchain network Polygon to use the technology. He said Polygon may issue a grant of between $5 million to $10 million to put the National Budget on blockchain. The DICT chief said this measure will be at no cost to the government.&quot;Whatever the amount, they will provide the grant for free,&quot; Aguda said.He also allayed concerns that the government may get tied to Polygon as the sole provider of the service. Some tech commentators earlier raised concerns about rushing to put the 2026 Budget on blockchain.&quot;Kasama sa agreement ko [with Polygon] na hindi tayo maho-hostage,&quot; Aguda said. He added that if the government wants to migrate from the Polygon platform, it can do so.(Part of my agreement with Polygon is that we won&#x27;t get hostaged.)He said that putting the budget on blockchain needed to be done quickly.&quot;Otherwise, magba-bicam na yan. Ang kalaban natin dito ay yung ayaw ng blockchain, dahil alam nyo na,&quot; he said.(Otherwise, the budget will already go to the bicameral conference committee, and  there will be those who don&#x27;t want it to be on blockchain for certain reasons.)Aguda also said that the DICT was exploring ways of using artificial intelligence to check for anomalies in government procurement contracts, as well as in monitoring that projects such as flood control and other infrastructure, conform to specifications.&quot;Ang kagandahan ng AI ngayon, there are visal AI. Magbibigay sya ng analysis.&quot;The CXO Tech Summit, organized by VST ECS, runs from Oct. 14-17.
