MANILA -- The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) will use a software to track illegal online gambling sites as part of efforts to curb unlicensed gaming firms online.The said software was created and donated by Digital Pinoys, a network of digital advocates. CICC Acting Executive Director Usec. Aboy Paraiso said they can use the Filipino-made program to detect illegal sites and potentially block it in the country.The donation of the software will also allow CICC to help other government agencies since its existing programs can now monitor other threats and issues.&quot;It free ups the other tools that we&#x27;re using right now na pwede na ipagamit sa ahensiya ng gobyerno,&quot; said Paraiso.Digital Pinoys National Campaigner Ronald Gustilo said they are offering this software for free because they understand the budget constraints of the government and the urgency to fight illegal online gambling.&quot;Primarily ang trabaho niya hanapan ang mga sites, mga links going to illegal online gambling. At the same time na dedetect din niya kahit mga social media accounts nitong mga illegal online gambling,&quot; Gustilo said.With this program, CICC also hopes to use it to monitor and detect other cyber crimes and threats as well, including illegal online recruitment and human trafficking.
