The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available in the Philippines starting June 26, the Japanese video game company announced on Thursday.

The Switch 2’s launch in the Philippines and neighboring Singapore and Thailand comes three weeks after the console’s release in major markets like Japan, North America, and Europe.

Pre-orders have already started on Nintendo’s official store on e-commerce platform Shopee. The base model is priced at P30,790, while a bundle with the new "Mario Kart World" game is also available at P34,300.

The Switch 2 is a follow-up to the highly successful Nintendo Switch released in 2017 which has sold over 152 million units as of March 2025, according to Nintendo’s latest earnings report. The number is spread across the Switch’s various iterations: the original Switch, the Switch Lite, and the OLED model.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said in a Q&A with media last May 8 that the company forecasts to sell 15 million Switch 2 units by March 2026. The Switch 1 sold 15.05 million in its first year.

Asked whether it was being conservative of its sales forecast in the context of the United States’ increased tariffs, Furukawa told reporters that this was not considered.

“The limits of our hardware production capacity were not a factor in setting our sales volume forecast. Additionally, the tariff situation in the US or a possibility of a recession did not affect our sales volume forecast either,” he said.

Launching on the same day as the Switch 2 are titles such as"Street Fighter 6", "Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition", and "SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS."

Some Switch titles will also get enhanced or upgraded versions for gameplay on the Switch 2, including two "The Legend of Zelda" titles "Breath of the Wild" and "Tears of the Kingdom." These will be available beginning Thursday (June 5), free for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members and for a fee for non-members
