MANILA — TikTok is temporarily pausing ads on &#x27;real money gambling&#x27; on its platform starting Aug.22.The social media giant said this was part of its efforts to &quot;provide a safe and positive environment&quot; for its users.TikTok said its advertising policies for gambling and related activities are designed to safeguard audiences, including requiring proper licenses and strict age restrictions.&quot;Online gambling and gaming service ads in the Philippines may only be allowed if the following requirements are met:- Companies must work with a TikTok Sales Representative to determine eligibility and obtain written permission from TikTok.- Provide evidence that the gambling activities are appropriately licensed by a regulator or relevant authorities, or otherwise established as lawful in the Philippines.- The ad must be restricted to viewers 25 years of age and older.TikTok&#x27;s move comes amid government scrutiny of online gambling services.The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas recently ordered e-wallets and financial institutions to remove links to online gambling sites from their apps.The Department of Information and Communications Technology recently also warned messaging apps and even online shopping platforms to stop promotions for online gambling services.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ao78cKe_Qxw?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>
