Jekki Pascual, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — Telco giant Globe has unveiled a new 5G-powered portable home broadband device, which it says is the first in the world.Dubbed &quot;Globe At Home 5G&quot; or the &quot;Loop&quot;, the gadget was presented at the telco’s &quot;The Blueprint&quot; media event at its headquarters in Taguig, Wednesday. It’s similar to a Wi-Fi router but packs much more features, and can be brought outside one’s house.Globe’s Chief Commercial Officer Darius Delgado said they will launch the device with limited availability for now. They target families who may need a home Wi-Fi outside their home, if they want to still be connected while inside the car or if they go to a resort.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/3/14/globe-unit-launches-new-campaign-1445">Globe unit launches new campaign</a></div>“I think it’s going to be a breakthrough,” he said.“Think of it as home Wi-Fi that moves with you. Just power it up like your similar Android phone,” added Abby Cardino, Vice President for Broadband Business.She said: “This one actually comes with Wi-Fi 6-enabled device. May speaker siya, meron siyang magandang camera, touch screen.”The device is larger than a pocket Wi-Fi, as it has a speaker and an actual phone. Users can download mobile apps like YouTube, Spotify and many more. It also comes with a strap making it easier to carry like a bag. It&#x27;s all in one,” Delgado added.The introductory price of the device is nearly P11,000 and several monthly plans are available. The device will also work better in 5G areas. Delgado said most key cities in the country are already 5G-powered. This will be made available in September.
