<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1772433920907950x633 1.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>HONOR launched several new devices ahead of the formal opening of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, on Sunday, with the uncanny Robot Phone prototype taking center stage in the packed event. </p><p>Looking like a cross between a mechanical stabilizer and a smartphone, with some Wall-E vibe thrown in, the Robot Phone looks set to change what goes into the toolkits of professional content creators. </p><p>Instead of carrying a dedicated gimbal and camera, or a combo of a high-end smartphone and a bulky gimbal, content creators will have the option of just carrying the Robot Phone, which rolls them into one neat smartphone package that flips up a gimbal camera when needed.  </p><p>The Robot Phone promises to make shooting and posting professional-looking, stabilized videos as seamless as possible.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1772455394432honor intro robot phone.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>“This mechanical architecture supports a three-axis gimbal stabilization system, delivering smooth and precise motion even in dynamic environments. Super Steady Video mode enhances stability in high-movement scenarios, while AI Object Tracking allows Robot Phone to intelligently follow subjects in real time,” HONOR said in a statement. </p><p>At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, a humanoid robot even helped in the unveiling of the latest prototype of the Robot Phone, apparently to drive home the point that HONOR is serious about its foray into fusing AI with its own hardware innovations. </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1772430211814HONOR MWC 2026 OFFICIAL PRESS PHOTOS_1.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>“AI SpinShot further expands creative control, supporting intelligent 90° and 180° rotational movement for fluid, cinematic transitions, even when shooting one-handed,” HONOR said.  </p><p>But aside from the smart gimbal, HONOR promises that the Robot Phone also packs a lot of AI features. </p><p>“It goes beyond what a static smartphone can offer, bringing more human, expressive interaction into everyday technology and adjusting its perspective in real time,” the global device manufacturer said. </p><p>The Robot Phone supports all-angle AI video calling that follows the user through robot-grade motion control, HONOR said. It also responds with emotional body language, including expressive nods and head shakes, and can even dance to the beat of music, bringing playful, lifelike interaction to the smartphone experience, HONOR added. </p><p>Developing the Robot Phone required using high-performance materials and reliability know-how developed for foldables, the company said. Last year, HONOR touted the durability of its Magic V5 foldable. The company said it also designed a very compact but strong micro motor to power the gimbal. </p><p>But aside from the gimbal and AI, the Robot Phone also packs a 200MP sensor. HONOR, however, was mum on the kind of lens or lenses it would pack into the Robot Phone when it finally launches.  </p><p>When it officially launches, the Robot Phone could make content creation even more seamless, as they would need to go through fewer intermediary apps to get their videos or photos on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other platforms. </p><p>The MWC runs from March 2 to 5 this year.</p>
