MANILA -- After Starlink, Amazon Leo is set to be launched in the Philippines, possibly this year. Amazon Leo is a satellite internet service provider and is seen as a rival to Starlink. He also welcomes initiatives of local government units or LGUs to bring connectivity to their constituents following the signing of the Konektadong Pinoy law.“May mga LGU ako nakausap na nagbabalak na sila na magtatayo ng tore, sila na mag-eengganyo sa mga telco na maglagay ng cellsite doon sa mga tore, at the same time sila na rin nag-iisip na maglagay ng fiber,” he added.Aguda is hopeful that with more telco firms in the country, it can improve internet services and also bring down costs for consumers.
