Benise Balaoing, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA – Samsung has officially launched its latest line of smartwatches and is offering better health and fitness monitoring.With the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, users can use the Trail Run feature, which taps into a runner’s GPS. The feature tracks a runner’s detailed route, elevation, and even estimated completion time. Benise Balaoing, ABS-CBN News</div>The Korean tech giant said the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is durable because its shock-resistant titanium case and screen make it so, and comfortable because the watch strap is only 1.9mm thick and 25 percent lighter than that of previous models.The watch face also has a 1.52-inch larger display and 5,0000 nits of brightness, making it more visible outdoors. It runs on an 800 mAh battery.Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch9 is for those who want more comprehensive tracking of their health. The Galaxy Watch9 can monitor a person’s blood oxygen, heart rate variability, heart rate, skin temperature, and respiratory rate—and send alerts when these exceed a user’s baseline.It can also monitor a person’s average sleep time, body mass index, and daily cardio load—which tells users whether they can continue working out or need to take a rest.Users also only need to raise their watches to check messages, play music, or manage schedules. The Galaxy Watch9 is also 25 percent lighter than the previous Galaxy Watch8.The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is available at P44,990. The Galaxy Watch9, meanwhile, is available at P24,990 for the 44mm version, and P22,990 for the 40mm version. Pre-orders for both start on July 23.Discounts are also available for those paying with credit cards with no interest for 24- to 36-month installments. Customers may also get P3,000 off via Home Credit, or get up to P7,000 off by trading in their old Galaxy watches.Buyers of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 get a 60-day Strava free trial, and a 2-month trial with iFIT--an app that offers guided training for cardio, strength, interval training, and recovery.
