<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17871470590291785580147227vinfast-rider.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div>MANILA — VinFast said its new battery-powered electric motorcycles have an IP67-rated powertrain specifically engineered to tackle the country&#x27;s flood-prone roads and harsh weather conditions.The Vietnamese EV maker said the IP67 rating means that the motor and MCU—critical components of the electric powertrain—can safely withstand submersion in half a meter of water for up to 30 minutes and are completely protected against dust and fine debris.Introduced to the local market on July 31, the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper models are designed to give Filipino riders confidence during the monsoon season, according to VinFast. The EVs also use removable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries designed to meet European ECE-R136 safety standards, the company said. This provides vital impact protection against everyday hazards like potholes and uneven road surfaces. VinFast launched the motorcycles last July 31. They all come equipped with up to two 1.5 kWh batteries, which provide a maximum range of 150 km. VinFast has said that the batteries of the EVs can be swapped for freshly charged ones in designated battery-swapping stations.ABS-CBN Tech News has yet to test the flood-wading capabilities, as well as range and speed of the VinFast motorcycles.
