<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1787718265278Apple-M6-and-M5-Ultra-hero-260825_big.jpg.large_2x.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div>MANILA — Apple unveiled its next-generation custom silicon processors—the M6 and M5 Ultra—alongside a refreshed Mac Studio desktop and Mac mini, as the company wades into the market for hardware-driven artificial intelligence.The flagship M6 chip represents Apple’s first processor built on an advanced two-nanometer process technology, debuting inside an updated Mac mini desktop. Designed to power daily tasks and agentic AI workflows, the M6 features a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU equipped with Neural Accelerators in every core, a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, and up to 170 gigabytes per second of memory bandwidth.At the highest end of performance, the workstation-grade M5 Ultra becomes Apple&#x27;s most powerful processor to date. The company said the new chip uses a novel quad-die architecture, and connects two dual-die M5 Max chips via UltraFusion technology into a single package. The processor packs an up-to-36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU, and up to 512 gigabytes of unified memory with 1.2 terabytes per second of bandwidth—a 50 percent capacity increase over the M3 Ultra.The M5 Ultra and M5 Max chips power the newly announced Mac Studio desktop, delivering up to 4.3 times faster AI performance and 1.8 times faster graphics processing than previous generations, Apple said.According to Apple’s Philippine website, the base Mac Mini with the M6 chip, 16GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will sell for P64,990. A maxed-out option with the M5 Pro chip, 64GB of RAM and 8TB of storage meanwhile, will cost P438,490. For the workstation-class Mac Studio, the base configuration with the M5 Max chip featuring an 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU, 36GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will cost P169,990.A max configuration with the M5 Ultra chip featuring a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU, with 256GB of RAM and 16TB of storage, meanwhile will cost P1,211,990.  Apple says a 512GB memory option for M5 Ultra coming late October.
