Arthur Fuentes, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — Global technology giant Acer is charting its roadmap for the next 50 years by expanding aggressively beyond personal computers into artificial intelligence, home appliances, smart medica devices, and industrial computing.  The expansion coincides with the 10th anniversary of the company&#x27;s flagship &quot;Acer Day&quot; initiative, amid strong market momentum in Southeast Asia. Citing market data from Nielsen-GfK for January to July 2026, Acer said it achieved a record 37.9 percent share in the Philippine retail mobile computing market, reaching an all-time peak of 41 percent in July.  Andrew Hou, President of Acer Pan Asia-Pacific also noted the company&#x27;s strong performance in the commercial sector, where the company supplies PCs and business solutions to private and government organizations.&quot;Also, we do a lot of investment and business in commercial. Handout</div>&quot;Fifteen years ago, we started the Acer Academy Program, and it&#x27;s now reached 427 member schools. These are private school institutions who have been loyal to Acer because we also, of course, try to create and add more value to the institution, to all the stakeholders, not just the school as an institution, but also to the learners, to the teachers, to the IT professionals,&quot; Lim said.Looking to the future, Acer is pivoting toward high-growth technology verticals, including AI servers, cybersecurity, smart medical devices, energy solutions, and Industrial PCs (IPC)—a category that includes ruggedized systems and Point of Sale (POS) retail tech.  At the same time, the company is ramping up its Acerpure consumer brand, moving from small home appliances into larger products such as split-type air conditioners, with potential expansions into refrigerators and washing machines.  To counter longer consumer PC replacement cycles, Acer is emphasizing the superior performance of AI-enabled laptops and lightweight, cost-effective models over aging, slower devices with declining battery life. The tech group is also expanding its commercial footprint across education, government, and enterprise markets through its Altos server infrastructure. Adapting to shifting consumer lifestyle habits—including health, sports, and well-being—remains central to its market presence alongside an expansive distribution network.  Underpinning its long-term corporate vision is a commitment to sustainability, with global targets to source 100 percent renewable electricity by 2035 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
