After a magnitude 6.9 earthquake jolted Cebu province Tuesday, the Philippines is facing yet another natural calamity in the form of tropical depression #PaoloPH, the 16th cyclone to hit the country.PAGASA weather forecaster Charmagne Varilla said that as of 8 a.m., the low pressure area east of Catanduanes has developed into tropical depression #PaoloPH and is now 835 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon.Moving west at 25 kph, Paolo may reach Northern Luzon or Central Luzon by Friday or Saturday.PAGASA said a total of 9 cyclones may develop or enter the Philippine area of responsibility before the end of the year, or up to 12 cyclones between October 2025 to March 2026.
