Handout/PAGASA</div>MANILA -- Tropical Depression Paolo slightly intensified slightly as it moves west northwestward over the Philippine Sea.Wind signal no. 1 is now up over northern Catanduanes.At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the tropical depression was located 665 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.It now packs winds of 55 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 70 kph and is moving west northwestward at 25 kph.Paolo will intensify up to severe tropical storm strength before making landfall over Isabela or northern Aurora Friday morning or afternoon.PAGASA is not ruling out further intensification up to typhoon category before landfall, which may warrant the raising of wind signal no. 4.The disturbance will cross Northern Luzon and emerge over the West Philippine Sea late Friday.The storm will exit the Philippine area of responsibility Saturday morning.Paolo’s rain bands will bring moderate to intense rainfall over Northern and Central Luzon through Saturday afternoon, especially over Aurora, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera.Flooding and landslides are expected in these areas.Up to two meter storm surge may also occur along the coasts of Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/10/1/lpa-develops-into-tropical-depression-paolo-0937">READ: LPA develops into tropical depression Paolo</a></div>
