Courtesy of MDRRMO Pandan</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday said 2 individuals were reported dead due to typhoon Uwan. </p><p>In an 11 a.m. media briefing, Office of Civil Defense Officer-in-Charge Raffy Alejandro IV said one victim drowned in Viga, Catanduanes, while another died in Catbalogan City, Samar after a structure collapsed.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/11/10/uwan-further-weakens-over-the-west-philippine-sea-after-displacing-1-4-million-1156">Uwan further weakens over the West Philippine Sea after displacing 1.4 million</a></div><p>Two individuals were also injured in Bato, Catanduanes and in Calinog, Iloilo after falling while fixing a roof.</p><p>According to the NDRRMC report, the typhoon affected 231,000 families or about 837,000 individuals across more than 2,700 barangays. </p><p>Of these, 426,000 families or 1.4 million individuals were pre-emptively evacuated, with 92,000 families or 318,000 individuals staying in evacuation centers.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic">Typhoon Uwan: Latest Updates and Path Tracker</a></div><p>As of Monday morning, the NDRRMC said a total of 1,085 damaged houses were reported in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and CARAGA.</p><p>At least 155 cities and municipalities are still experiencing power interruptions, 13 have water interruptions, and 14 are dealing with communication issues.</p><p>A total of 71 roads and 26 bridges remain impassable. Some municipalities in Aurora province — including Casiguran, Lasag, Dinalungan and Dipacilao — were reported isolated due to landslides. </p><p>Clearing operations are ongoing in areas hit by fallen trees and soil collapse.</p><p>Flooding persists in 132 areas, while 13 communities reported storm surges.</p><p>The weather disturbance also triggered the suspension of 995 classes.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/9/gov-t-work-classes-suspended-in-several-regions-due-to-uwan-1116">Gov’t work, classes suspended in several regions due to &#x27;Uwan&#x27;</a></div><p>Meanwhile, four barges ran aground at the height of strong waves in San Jose, Antique; Nasugbu, Batangas; and San Vicente, Palawan while docked at ports. No casualties were reported and there is no expected oil spill.</p><p>In its 11:00 a.m. advisory, state weather bureau PAGASA said Uwan was located 135 km west northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, packing winds of 130 kph and gusts up to 160 kph. It was moving west northwestward at 20 kph.</p><p>Wind signal no. 3 was still hoisted over Ilocos Sur, northern and central La Union, and northwestern Pangasinan.</p><p>Prior to the briefing, Alejandro said the NDRRMC has updated President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro on the latest situation.
