2 weather systems will bring rains to Luzon, Mindanao this week

MANILA — Although there will be a temporary break from the southwest monsoon, two weather systems are still expected to bring rains to Luzon and Mindanao this week.

A potential low pressure area and intertropical convergence zone will bring scattered rains to Luzon from Tuesday to Thursday, according to ABS-CBN's resident weather forecaster Ariel Rojas.

The same weather systems are expected to bring intense afternoon rains in Mindanao and severe thunderstorms in Visayas.

Habagat or the south west monsoon will remain withdrawn over Indochina until midweek. The weak Habagat will bring scattered rains over Palawan.

Other areas of the country may have isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms, while Metro Manila will also be hot and humid through midday followed by afternoon thunderstorms, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday.
