MANILA — Several roads in Malabon remained submerged in floodwaters as of Wednesday evening, despite the weakening of recent rains caused by the southwest monsoon.As of 7:00 p.m., flood levels along Rizal Avenue Extension near the corner of General Luna Street heading towards Malabon City Hall were still between 10 to 12 inches, making the road difficult to navigate for light vehicles.According to a 6:00 p.m. advisory from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), portions of MacArthur Highway at the corner of C. Santiago Street and Bautista Street in Barangay Hulong Duhat were also not passable to light vehicles due to accumulated floodwaters.Meanwhile, floodwaters have receded in some parts of Quezon City, including Commonwealth Avenue and Araneta Avenue, allowing traffic to resume in those areas.Authorities continue to monitor flood-prone zones and advise motorists to take alternate routes when necessary.
