<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1758252624093philippines_band_13_20250918230000.gif" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">RAMB/US NOAA/Himawari</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Nando will reach super typhoon intensity on Monday, before approaching the Babuyan Islands, according to PAGASA.</p><p>The state weather bureau said Nando would intensify steadily while crossing the Philippine Sea and reach its peak strength on Monday and Tuesday.</p><p>Nando may make landfall over or pass very close to Babuyan Islands during this period, bringing life-threatening conditions from its violent winds, torrential rainfall, and above 3 meter storm surge.</p><p>It may exit the Philippine area of responsibility Tuesday midday or afternoon.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17582527196941758252718268.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>At 10 a.m. Friday, Nando was spotted 1,005 kilometers east of Central Luzon. The tropical storm was packing sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour with up to 90 kph gusts. </p><p>Wind signal no. 1 may be hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon as early as Saturday morning, with signal no. 5 as the highest wind warning to be raised.</p><p>Nando will also enhance the southwest monsoon which will bring monsoon rains over western Luzon from Sunday.</p><div><iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hh0VfeulWcc" title="Sept 21 protests uulanin ba?" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
