At its peak, it roared with 215 kilometers per hour winds and gusts that reached up to 295 kph.</p><p>With its central pressure dipping to 910 hectopascals during its peak, Nando is also considered the most powerful storm on earth yet of the year.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/23/nearly-25k-flee-homes-in-luzon-due-to-super-typhoon-nando-0907">Nearly 25k flee homes in Luzon due to super typhoon Nando</a></div><p>The lower the pressure at the storm’s center is, the greater the pressure difference from the environment that then results to much stronger winds around the eye.</p><p>The monster typhoon barreled through the Babuyan Islands and made landfall at Panuitan Island in Calayan town Monday afternoon.</p><p>At 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nando was located 340 km west northwest of Calayan, Cagayan.
