MANILA -- Tropical depression Ada weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) Wednesday afternoon, according to PAGASA.It was last spotted 1,270 km east of Central Luzon and will not be affecting any part of the country in the next two days.This remnant low however may linger, head towards Mindanao, and strengthen the shear line over the weekend over central and southern Philippines.Moderate to heavy rains may be expected in Central and Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula.Meanwhile, another LPA located more than 2,200 km east of Mindanao is now less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone nor enter the Philippine area of responsibility.<div> </div><div>SWEATER AND CUDDLE WEATHER</div>A strong northeast monsoon or Amihan surge is currently gripping most of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and may persist through the weekend.Temperatures in several areas, especially in Northern Luzon, dipped Wednesday morning.In La Trinidad, Benguet, the mercury dropped to 13 degrees Celsius while nearby Baguio City recorded 13.2 degrees Celsius.Other localities which logged minimum temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius include:17.0°C        Malaybalay City, Bukidnon17.5°C        Basco, Batanes18.8°C        Tanay, Rizal19.0°C        Casiguran, Aurora19.9°C        Calayan, CagayanThe temperatures may drop further especially when the skies are cloudless overnight and the winds are calm.The peak of Amihan season will persist through the middle of February, with the end of the cold season usually announced early March.
