It was moving west southwestward at 20 kph, the state weather bureau said. </p><p>PAGASA raised wind signal no. 2 is raised in 10 provinces. </p><div><br/></div><ul><li>Surigao del Norte</li><li>Surigao del Sur</li><li>extreme northern Davao Oriental</li><li>Agusan del Norte</li><li>Agusan del Sur</li><li>Camiguin</li><li>Misamis Oriental</li><li>northern Bukidnon</li><li>northeastern Lanao del Norte</li><li>northeastern Misamis Occidental</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Signal no. 1 was up in 30 areas.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17702527421931770252740585.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>Basyang may slightly intensify before making its initial landfall in Surigao del Sur late Thursday or early Friday.</p><p>It will weaken but remain a tropical storm while crossing northeastern Mindanao, Siquijor, and southern Negros through Friday afternoon.</p><p>The weather disturbance may further weaken into a tropical depression before crossing northern Palawan Saturday afternoon or evening and eventually be downgraded into a remnant low pressure area once over the West Philippine Sea.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17702527553331770252753828.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>Basyang will bring significant amounts of rainfall over Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday and Friday and over Mimaropa and Western Visayas on Saturday.</p><p>Heavy to intense rains are forecast in the northern and eastern portions of Mindanao and central and western parts of Visayas.</p><p>Widespread and serious flooding and landslides are likely across many parts of Mindanao, Visayas, and Southern Luzon.</p><p>The public is advised to continuously monitor updates and take actions necessary to protect life and property, including following evacuation orders. </p><div><br style="caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0)"/></div><div><iframe width="725" height="408" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Py1qwFPAfL0" title="&#x27;Basyang&#x27; intensifies to tropical storm" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><iframe width="725" height="408" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/x_bzB_hUmHI" title="Signal no 2 in parts of Mindanao, Basyang landfall imminent" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
