<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178218156616720260623000628_42ee0dd065125831eccd58b536bd0c27156b9752f91dd5f9f3584053e9884846.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">At 4 a.m. Tuesday, super typhoon Francisco was located 410 km east of Aparri, Cagayan. <em>DOST-Pagasa</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATE) </strong>— Super typhoon Francisco weakened into a typhoon Tuesday morning as it recurved east of the Batanes-Babuyan area, according to PAGASA.</p><p>As of 4 a.m. Tuesday, Francisco was located 410 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, and was moving west-northwestward at 10 kilometers per hour.</p><p>Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 was in effect over Batanes and northeastern Cagayan, which included eastern Babuyan Islands and the towns of Santa Ana and Gonzaga on mainland Cagayan.</p><p>The outer rainbands of the typhoon were affecting parts of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon and Bicol Region.</p><div> </div><div><strong>HEAVY RAINS</strong></div><div> </div><p>Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or habagat brings scattered rains over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Sulu Archipelago.</p><p>Moderate to heavy rains are forecast over Batanes, Cagayan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique on Tuesday.</p><p>Moderate to heavy rainfall may persist through Thursday in Batanes, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.</p><p>The typhoon could pull the habagat toward Luzon by midweek, bringing scattered rains over the western section of the island, including Metro Manila.</p><p>Francisco may leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday, June 26.</p><div> </div><div><strong>STORM OUTSIDE PAR INTENSIFIES</strong></div><div> </div><p>The tropical depression outside the PAR intensified into a tropical storm, PAGASA said Tuesday morning.</p><p>As of 4 a.m., it was located 2,680 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.</p><p>The weather disturbance may graze the northeastern boundary of the PAR on Friday and is not expected to directly affect the country&#x27;s weather.</p><p>It will be assigned the local name Gardo should it enter the PAR.</p><div> </div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VlMvMX7zFrY?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
