<div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178228376300220230713-flood-rain-manila-JC-1.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Pedestrians brave the flood waters brought by a strong downpour along United Nations Avenue in Manila on July 13, 2023. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</em><em></em><em></em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Nine to 13 tropical cyclones may form inside or enter the Philippine area of responsibility from July to December 2026, according to PAGASA.</p><p>Two to four storms are forecast for the months of July and August, two to three in September, and one to two each in October, November, and December.</p><p>The next tropical cyclone names for this year include the following.</p><div> </div><ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li>Gardo</li><li>Henry</li><li>Inday</li><li>Josie</li><li>Kiyapo</li><li>Luis</li><li>Maymay</li><li>Neneng</li><li>Obet</li><li>Pilandok</li><li>Queenie</li><li>Rosal</li><li>Samuel</li><li>Tomas</li></ul><div> </div><p>Two tropical cyclones are currently <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/6/24/francisco-habagat-to-bring-rains-in-luzon-visayas-0757">active within and around</a> the PAR.</p><p>Typhoon Francisco is over the northern Philippine Sea east of Batanes and may exit the PAR on Thursday evening.</p><p>Meanwhile, tropical storm Higos may briefly enter the PAR from Thursday evening to Friday morning or afternoon and will be assigned the local name Gardo.</p><p>Despite the prevailing <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/6/12/weather-pattern-el-nino-is-here-and-could-reach-historic-intensity-1013">El Niño</a>, tropical cyclone activity from July to September is expected to remain near normal.
