<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782702002862philippines_band_13_20260628223000.gif" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">RAMB/US NOAA/Himawari</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said on Monday morning.</p><p>It will be assigned the local name Henry once it forms into a tropical depression.</p><p>As of 8 a.m., the LPA was located 390 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.</p><p>It is already bringing scattered rains over Bicol Region, Central and Eastern Visayas, and northern Caraga, the state weather bureau said. </p><p>The weather disturbance is<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/6/27/brewing-storm-may-cross-central-philippines-next-week-2037"> seen to cross the Visayas-Southern Luzon area</a> on Tuesday before emerging over the West Philippine Sea on Wednesday, where it may enhance the southwest monsoon or Habagat.</p><p>During the potential storm’s passage, moderate to heavy rains are expected in Bicol, Mimaropa, Eastern Visayas, and parts of Caraga. Scattered rains may also affect Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the rest of Visayas, and the western and northern sections of Mindanao.</p><p>Rainy weather may continue in Mimaropa on Wednesday and Thursday due to the enhanced Habagat.</p><p>In Metro Manila, cloudy skies and scattered rains will be experienced from Tuesday through Friday.</p><p>Meanwhile, afternoon or evening thunderstorms may also bring heavy rains and strong winds in Northern Luzon and the rest of Mindanao.</p><p>The weather disturbance will intensify further over the West Philippine Sea before moving towards southern China later in the week. </p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/6/24/up-to-13-storms-expected-in-par-in-second-half-of-2026-1506">Up to 13 storms expected in PAR in second half of 2026 </a><br/><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/6/25/pagasa-more-than-60-chance-of-super-el-ni-o-by-late-2026-2130">PAGASA: More than 60% chance of ‘super’ El Niño by late 2026 </a></div>
