<p>MANILA — <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/7/14/josie-may-quickly-exit-par-with-no-direct-impact-warm-weather-to-prevail-across-the-country-1008">Josie </a>weakened into a tropical depression ahead of its forecast exit from the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday afternoon or evening, according to PAGASA.</p><p>At 10 a.m., Josie was located 1,070 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.</p><p>It was packing winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with up to 70 kph gusts, and was moving north northwestward at 25 kph.</p><p>PAGASA said Josie could further weaken into a low pressure area within the next 12 hours due to very unfavorable environmental conditions. </p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FPAGASA.DOST.GOV.PH%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0BZNsXaYsKHUNc2DYdrxmTTQe2NAsjVM71triV8tGBuVrYLabuK9GyanpTgGLaR14l&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=500" width="500" height="281" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Meanwhile, a new LPA formed off the coast of southern China at 8 a.m., according to PAGASA.</p><p>The LPA has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, but any development may be short-lived.</p><p>It is not expected to enter the PAR or directly affect the country’s weather.
