Handout/DOST-PAGASA</div>MANILA -- Kiyapo has intensified into a typhoon and is now outside of the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said on Saturday morning.As of 4:00 a.m., the center of Typhoon Kiyapo was located 320 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes.It is bearing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph, and gustiness of 150 kph. &quot;Kiyapo&quot; is moving west-northwest at 25 kph.Even though &quot;Kiyapo&quot; is already outside PAR, tropical cyclone wind signal No. 1 remains up over the following areas:-- Batanes-- the western portion of Babuyan Islands (Calayan Is., Dalupiri Is., Fuga Is.)-- the northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan (Pamplona, Sanchez-Mira, Claveria, Santa Praxedes)-- the northern portion of Apayao (Luna, Calanasan)-- Ilocos NorteThese wind signals may eventually be lifted as Kiyapo moves farther away.PAGASA also issued a heavy rainfall warning over the following areas due to the combined effects of Kiyapo and the habagat.<div>Orange Warning Level</div>-- southern Negros Occidental-- southwestern Negros Oriental<div>Yellow Warning Level</div>-- western Ilocos Norte-- northern Ilocos Sur-- northern and southern Zambales-- central Negros OccidentalThe trough or extension of Kiyapo may still bring moderate to heavy rains over Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, amd Ilocos Sur this Saturday morning.Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or Habagat will continue to affect the western sections of Luzon and Visayas this weekend, with moderate to heavy rains also expected in Zambales and Occidental Mindoro Saturday and Pangasinan and Zambales on Sunday.Flooding and landslides may still be possible in these areas.&quot;Kiyapo&quot; is forecast to move generally northwestward until Sunday, July 26 towards mainland China before turning north northwestward. It is expected to continue to strengthen in the next 12 hours, prior to its landfall. Afterwards, &quot;Kiyapo&quot; is expected to weaken rapidly as it moves further inland.
