<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1783557089069philippines_band_13.gif" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>RAMB/US NOAA/Himawari </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Super typhoon Inday weakened into a typhoon early Thursday, according to PAGASA.</p><p>It still packs maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour, with gustiness up to 215 kph.</p><p>As of 4 a.m., Typhoon Inday was located 925 kilometers east of Northern Luzon and was moving west northwestward at 20 kph.</p><p>Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 remains in effect in 12 provinces:</p><ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li>Northern and central Catanduanes</li><li>Northern Aurora</li><li>Northeastern Quirino</li><li>Isabela</li><li>Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands</li><li>Batanes</li><li>Eastern Ifugao</li><li>Eastern Mountain Province</li><li>Kalinga</li><li>Apayao</li><li>Northern Abra</li><li>Ilocos Norte</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>PAGASA said signal no. 2 is the highest warning likely to be raised during Inday’s passage. </p><p>Several local government units have already suspended classes this Thursday.</p><p>Inday may bring rains accompanied by gusty winds over Catanduanes, Aurora, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Ilocos Norte. Scattered rains are also expected in Eastern Visayas and the rest of Bicol Region this Thursday.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Inday-enhanced southwest monsoon or Habagat will also bring scattered rains over:</p><ul style="list-style-type:circle"><li>MIMAROPA</li><li>Western Visayas</li><li>Negros Island Region</li><li>Zamboanga Peninsula</li><li>Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao</li><li>Lanao del Norte</li><li>Sultan Kudarat</li><li>Sarangani</li><li>South Cotabato</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Other parts of Visayas and Mindanao may also experience gusty conditions due to the enhanced Habagat.</p><p>Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience warm and humid conditions, with possible localized rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.</p><p>The typhoon is not expected to make landfall over Philippine landmass but may pass close to Batanes on Friday, July 10. It is forecast to continue moving northwestward before exiting the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday, July 11.</p><p>However, the enhanced Habagat will persist through the weekend.</p><p>From Friday to Sunday, moderate to heavy monsoon rains may affect Zamboanga Peninsula, Negros Island Region, Western Visayas, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, and Metro Manila.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/7/8/inday-to-reach-peak-over-metro-manila-on-friday-saturday-pagasa-1047">Metro Manila to experience peak impact of Inday-enhanced habagat on Friday, Saturday - PAGASA</a></div><p>Heavy to intense rainfall is possible in Occidental Mindoro and Antique.</p><p>Widespread and serious flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible in these areas and may pose a significant threat to life.</p><p>Severe flooding could trigger forced evacuations; damage agriculture, homes, and infrastructure; class and work suspensions; disrupt land, sea, and air travel; and increase the risk of water- and vector-borne illnesses such as leptospirosis and dengue.</p><p>Rain-induced landslides may also cause house collapses, rockfalls, and road blockages in mountainous areas.</p><p>The public is advised to continue monitoring official weather updates on Typhoon Inday and the enhanced Habagat, as forecasts may still change. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kHdkkgTbZAo?si=sFTaYFJIEbmE2-T3" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
