Cities like New York and Chicago are bracing for President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration’s immigration policies. Officials and rights advocates had said Trump&#x27;s administration would launch immigration raids in multiple U.S. cities almost as soon as he takes office on Monday (January 20), with Chicago considered a likely first location. Reuters reported Friday (January 17) that agents would also conduct raids in New York and Miami. Tom Homan, Trump&#x27;s &#x27;border czar&#x27; and former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said the new administration “hasn’t made a decision yet” on the raids in an interview with the Washington Post on Saturday (January 18). Some 100 activists and migrants gathered for a protest Saturday (January 18) in northern Manhattan just two days before Donald Trump returns to the presidency. &quot;Anxiety is there. It&#x27;s not leaving,&quot; said Adama Bah, the executive director of Africana New York. “And I don’t have answers.&quot; In Chicago, Jose Munoz, co-chair of the Illinois Latino Agenda, echoed the same sentiments. &quot;Individuals and families are worried about what would potentially could happen and they&#x27;re worried about deportation,&quot; Munoz said. &quot;You know, when communities are living in fear, they don&#x27;t go to work.
