<p>Drone video from Gaza shot on Tuesday (January 21) showed severe damage or destruction sustained by major hospitals in the Palestinian enclave.</p><p>The footage was released by the World Health Organization on Saturday (January 25).</p><p>The estimated damage to infrastructure totaled $18.5 billion as of end-January 2024, affecting residential buildings, commerce, industry, and essential services such as education, health, and energy, a U.N.-World Bank report said.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2025/1/26/trump-floats-plan-to-just-clean-out-gaza-1347">READ: Trump floats plan to &#x27;just clean out&#x27; Gaza</a></div><p>Billions of dollars will be needed to rebuild Gaza after the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, according to assessments from the United Nations.</p><p>A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on Sunday, suspending a 15-month-old war that has devastated the Gaza Strip and inflamed the Middle East.</p><p>Israel launched its campaign in Gaza following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, when militants killed 1,200 people and took more than 250 hostages to Gaza, according to Israeli tallies. Since then, Israel&#x27;s campaign has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians in Gaza, according to health authorities there.
