<p>At a Cabinet meeting in the Oval Office, U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. again warned against the use of Tylenol by pregnant women, saying studies suggested a link to autism.</p><p>Kennedy also cited studies that children who are circumcised early “have double the rate of autism.” Last year, scientists published a <a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jebm.12482">study</a> that found no evidence supporting the claim that circumcision leads to autism or any other adverse psychological effects.</p><p>“It also just, there&#x27;s other many, many other confirmation studies. On one, there&#x27;s two studies that show children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it&#x27;s highly likely because they&#x27;re given Tylenol. So, you know, none of this is dispositive, but all it is stuff that we should be paying attention to,” Kennedy said.</p><p>Health experts and medical groups called that warning dangerous and without sound scientific basis.</p><p>Last month, Trump, Kennedy and other health officials held a White House event in which they announced they would add a warning to the label of Tylenol that women who take Tylenol during pregnancy are raising the risk of autism in their unborn children, The warning is being added despite no proven causal link between Kenvue&#x27;s Tylenol and autism.
