TORINO — Thirteen cities in Italy are under red alert for extreme heat on Friday, June 27, Italy&#x27;s health ministry said in its latest heatwave bulletin.As heatwave intensified across most of the country, Italy&#x27;s health ministry issued its highest-level &#x27;red&#x27; alert heat warning for Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Milan, Perugia, Rome, Turin, Venice and Verona.Heat waves occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high levels of humidity, strong solar radiation, and lack of ventilation. These climatic conditions can pose a risk to the health of the population.Temperatures in Florence, Rome, and Milan are predicted to reach 39°C to 40°C in between Friday and Sunday, according to Italy&#x27;s IlMeteo weather website.On Thursday, six cities were already under red alert, including Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Perugia and Turin.
