He is still in Zurich for now, and his vitals are stable,” Kristal said.</p><p>Kean had traveled to Switzerland to spend a short break and was staying at the home of a friend’s family. He was with three other classmates. All were injured in the incident after attending what was meant to be a carefree New Year’s Eve celebration.</p><p>In a separate interview, Kean’s father, Yohan Guiot, told the Italian newspaper Il Giorno that he received a call from his son at around 4:00 a.m. on January 1, using a rescuer’s mobile phone.</p><p>According to Guiot, Kean was crying and frightened but said he was alive, although his entire body was in pain. After the brief call, Guiot was able to speak with the rescuer, who informed him that Kean had sustained extensive burns.</p><p>Kean was reportedly treated at the scene for nearly 45 minutes before being rushed to the hospital.</p><p>His father added that the identification of some victims took time, as many had suffered severe burns and required extensive bandaging.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>KEAN MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO HOSPITAL IN ITALY</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Meanwhile, according to his mother, the Italian government is coordinating the possible transfer of Kean to Italy, pending clearance from the medical team. He may be moved to Niguarda Hospital in Milan, where other victims of the fire are also being treated, if the results of his next medical evaluation are favorable.</p><p>The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. on January 1 during New Year’s Eve celebrations. Authorities have not yet determined how many people were inside the venue at the time, which reports say was also frequented by young people.</p><p>According to official figures, at least 40 people were killed and 121 were injured. </p><p>Five of the injured have yet to be identified, while identification of several victims remains difficult due to the severity of their burns.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/1/3/switzerland-reels-from-deadly-bar-fire-two-days-on-as-sparklers-blamed-1639">Switzerland reels from deadly bar fire two days on as sparklers blamed<br/></a></div><p>Only four victims have been formally identified so far, all of whom are Swiss nationals.</p><p>Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and authorities continue to release updates as identification efforts progress.</p>
