Razieh Poudat, ISNA via AFP</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — All Filipino seafarers aboard the two ships that <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/6/27/us-strikes-iran-sites-after-cargo-ship-attack-0837">Iran attacked last week</a> were safe, Malacañang said on Monday, noting that the 40 sea-based workers were on their way out of the Strait of Hormuz.</p><p>Twenty-one Filipinos were aboard the Singaporean-flagged MV Ever Lovely, while 19 Filipinos were working on the Panamanian-flagged MV Kiku, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a Palace briefing.</p><p>“Walang nasaktan mula sa 21 filipino crew kabilang ang kapitan… Nananatiling seaworthy ang vessel at nagpapatuloy ang biyahe,” she said, underscoring that the vessel was expected to dock in Singapore on July 5.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/6/27/us-strikes-iran-sites-after-cargo-ship-attack-0837">US strikes Iran sites after cargo ship attack </a></div><p>The same goes for the MV Kiku, Castro said.</p><p>“Nananatiling seaworthy ang vessel at walang nasaktan sa biyahe,” she said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/6/29/iran-warns-ships-not-to-bypass-its-chosen-hormuz-route-0823">Iran warns ships not to bypass its chosen Hormuz route </a></div><p>As on June 29, some 2,100 Filipinos aboard 85 vessels have safely sailed out of the Persian Gulf, while 3,800 Filipinos remain in vessels in the Gulf as Iran continues to pinch parts of the narrow strait despite initial agreements with the United States.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/6/29/us-iran-agree-to-pause-attacks-meet-in-qatar-us-media-0935">US, Iran agree to pause attacks, meet in Qatar </a></div><p>Earlier this year, Iran barred ships from passing through the strategic waterway in retaliation for the air strikes that the US and Israel launched.</p><p>The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has choked 20 percent of the world’s oil supply, prompting a spike in global oil prices.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs said it was “gravely concerned” with the recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz. </p><p>“We continue to urge all involved parties to  remain committed to the initial peace agreement and pursue constructive dialogue in finding a negotiated diplomatic solution to the conflict, as well as refrain from actions that could undermine the progress of the peace talks,” it said.  </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tgjQuOV7OT0?&amp;pp=0gcJCUELAYcqIYzv&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
