Prakash Mathema, AFP</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — There are no reported Filipino casualties in the<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/8/27/search-for-1-000-missing-after-deadly-nepal-tibet-floods-1210"> flash floods and landslides</a> that killed at least 165 and swept away entire villages on the Nepal-Tibet border, Malacanang said Thursday. </p><p>Palace Press Officer Claire Castro cited data from the Department of Foreign Affairs and OWWA Overseas Workers Welfare Administration as of Thursday morning. </p><p>“Nakikipag-coordinate na ang pamahalaan sa Nepalese authorities and with the Filipino community to determine if there are Filipinos affected by the incident,” Castro said in a press briefing. </p><p>Citing DFA and OWWA data, Malacañang said there are 18 overseas Filipino workers in Nepal and another 128 Filipinos, mostly women, married to Nepalese nationals.</p><p>The Palace expressed sorrow over the incident and urged the public to pray for the victims.</p><p>“Ang pamahalaan po, ang administrasyon sa pangunguna po ng ating Pangulo ang kaniyang mensahe ay nakakalungkot ang ganitong pangyayari at patuloy nating ipagdasal ang maging magandang kondisyon ng mga tao na naapektuhan ng kalamidad sa Nepal,” Castro added.  </p><p>Rescue teams rushed Thursday to find <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/8/27/search-for-1-000-missing-after-deadly-nepal-tibet-floods-1210">more than 1,000 people missing</a> in the disaster. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/8/27/the-foreign-tourists-missing-in-nepal-s-flash-floods-0856">The foreign tourists missing in Nepal&#x27;s flash floods </a></div><p>A terrifying clip of surveillance video from the Chinese side of the frontier shows a massive wall of mud and debris crashing over a building several stories high on Wednesday morning, engulfing it as dozens of people ran for their lives below.
