Rio, Gillian lift each other amidst obstacles in iWant's "Kargo"

October 11, 2019 AT 08:13 PM

Known for her roles in series and movies as a doting mother, Rio Locsin unleashes her tough side as she goes through gripping car chases, dodging bullets, and battling against an armed gang with breakout “Eerie” star Gillian Vicencio in the new iWant original series “Kargo.”

The thriller family drama and first Star Creatives digital series, which started streaming last Friday (October 11), features Rio as Lola Tere, a taxi driver who tirelessly searches for her granddaughter Hannah (Gillian) after running away from home for months.

Lola Tere’s wish of reuniting with Hannah comes true as she finally finds her, but it is not the kind of reunion she expected: Hannah has accidentally killed her partner Prinz, and they have to dispose the dead body immediately, or be hunted down by a gang of drug dealers, with whom Hannah has transactions.

This marks the start of their agonizing race for life as they try to run away from the criminals who are out to kill them. Hannah’s boyfriend Reyven (Markus Patterson), meanwhile, will make sure the two are safe and protect them at all cost.

Despite the impending danger, Lola Tere will prove to Hannah how far her love can go just to keep her in her arms. However, more problems will arise as secrets of the past unfold, which will forever change their family.

Will they survive through the tough challenges along their way?

The original series is directed by Julius Alfonso.
