<div></div>Nasa ilalim na ng state of calamity ang Santa Rosa City sa Laguna dahil sa kaso ng pertussis.Hiniling ni Mayor Arlene Arcillas sa sangguniang panglungsod ang pagdedeklara ng state of calamity para mapabilis ang proseso ng pagbili ng gamot at bakuna matapos magkaroon ng pertussis outbreak.Labing-lima na ang naitatalang kaso ng pertusiss sa Santa Rosa City. Limang barangay naman ang apektado, kabilang ang Kaingin, Kanluran, Sinalhan, Market Area at Dila.Isang sanggol na namatay mula sa Barangay Sinalhan ang unang kaso ng pertussis sa lungsod noong January 30, 2024. “The local health board namin proposed a resolution na mag-state of calamity kami... Kasi population ng Santa Rosa is 500,000, para yung processes namin yung pagbili ay mabilis,“ sabi ni Mayor Arcillas. Puspusan na ang pagbabakuna sa mga bata particular sa limang barangay na may mga naitalang kaso ng pertusisis para hindi na kumalat pa. “Wala pong dapat ikaalarma dahil sabi ko nga po nababantayan na natin ito  ang gusto ko lang syempre, may mga proseso na tayo kapag may ganyang mga infectious diseases together with the private hospitals nirereport naman po sa amin pero nag-iikot na po mga BHW natin, CHO 1 and CHO 2,” sabi pa ni Mayor Arcillas.Naka-isolate na rin ang pamilya ng mga tinamaan ng pertussis at sinasagot na rin ng LGU ang kanilang mga pagkain bukod pa sa financial assistance na ibinibigay.Ayon naman kay Dr. Rene Bagamasbad, Provincial Heath Officer ng Laguna, nasa 48 na ang naitalang kaso ng pertusiss sa buong probinsya mula buwan ng Enero at apat na rin ang namatay.Nilinaw din ni Dr. Bagamasbad na hindi lahat ng bayan o lungsod sa Laguna ay may kaso ng pertussis. <div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/4/2/doh-prioritizes-most-vulnerable-for-pertussis-vaccine-1127">DOH prioritizes &#x27;most vulnerable&#x27; for pertussis vaccine</a> <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/4/3/doh-records-862-total-pertussis-cases-49-deaths-804">DOH records 862 pertussis cases, 49 deaths</a></div>
