Details regarding the patient's profile remain undisclosed to the public for privacy reasons, the health official added.

The mpox case was discovered when the patient sought medical consultation after experiencing symptoms.

"Naagapan naman, nasabihan na mag-isolate muna. Nung meron na siyang results nasabihan siya na we follow the protocols," Pangilinan said.

The DOH has identified mpox cases in three regions, namely Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Cagayan Valley. It said there was no need to activate the Interagency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), given the disease’s low risk.
