PBA Media Bureau</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA, Philippines—For the first time in his career, Germany-born Filipino forward Christian Standhardinger was named Best Player of the Conference.Standhardinger took home the award after his superb performance for NorthPort in the 2019 PBA Governors&#x27; Cup, where he helped the Batang Pier reach the semifinals.He received the award on Wednesday night, ahead of Game 4 of the Governors&#x27; Cup finals between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco.&quot;I really appreciate my teammates,&quot; Standhardinger said after receiving the trophy. &quot;They put me in a great position. It was so much fun last conference to play with them and fight with them.&quot;&quot;I feel that this a team award,&quot; he added. &quot;I&#x27;m thankful to my coach at NorthPort and my teammates. I&#x27;m honored.&quot; Standhardinger, who was traded by San Miguel to NorthPort early in the conference, averaged 22.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game for the Batang Pier.He spearheaded their upset of top-seeded NLEX in the quarterfinals, tallying 33 points, 23 rebounds, and 7 assists in a 126-123 triple-overtime victory. The Batang Pier went on to lose to Ginebra in four games in the semifinals.Standhardinger edged former teammate June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beer, who was seeking a record-extending ninth BPC trophy, as well as TNT&#x27;s Jayson Castro and NLEX&#x27;s Kiefer Ravena.Standhardinger totaled 1,011 points (396 points from statistics, 433 from media, 32 from players and 150 from the PBA).Fajardo placed second with 657 points, Castro third with 615, Perez fourth with 506, and Ravena fifth with 481.Fajardo led the stats race after the semis with 38.8 statistical points (SPs), but his candidacy took a blow when the Beermen bowed out in the quarterfinals. Columbian Dyip rookie CJ Perez was in second place with 37.2 SPs, followed by Standhardinger with 35.1 SPs.
