<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="Ginebra" s="" Christian="" Standhardinger="" in="" action.="" PBA="" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/sports/01/15/20230115-mvp.jpg"/><figcaption>Ginebra&#x27;s Christian Standhardinger in action. <em>PBA Images.</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA, Philippines -- <strong>(UPDATED) </strong>Christian Standhardinger was rewarded for his work on both ends of the floor in the 2022 PBA Commissioner&#x27;s Cup Finals.</p><p>The Barangay Ginebra big man emerged as Finals Most Valuable Player after helping the Gin Kings beat the Bay Area Dragons, four games to three.</p><p>He had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in their 114-99 triumph in Game 7 on Sunday at the Philippine Arena, where Ginebra clinched the crown. </p><p>For the series, the Fil-German standout averaged 10.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals. He also served as the primary defender for Bay Area import Andrew Nicholson when he suited up in the series.</p><p>The award was an unexpected one for Standhardinger, who credited his teammates for his scoring output in the series.</p><p>&quot;I just have to say, this goes to my teammates. The way that they passed me the ball -- I&#x27;m more trying to focus on defense in this Finals series, that&#x27;s why I&#x27;m very, very surprised in regards of getting the reward,&quot; said Standhardinger. </p><p>Aside from his teammates, Standhardinger also expressed his gratitude to the crowd of over 54,000 fans who showed up for Game 7 -- majority of whom rooted for Ginebra. </p><p>The impact of the crowd was &quot;amazing,&quot; said Standhardinger, as they cheered the Gin Kings tirelessly throughout the contest.</p><p>&quot;Man, it was amazing. I mean, I guess you guys saw it in our body language,&quot; he said. &quot;The whole Ginebra nation was out there, and I just am so appreciative of them to scream us to victory.&quot;</p><p>This is Standhardinger&#x27;s fourth PBA championship, and second with Barangay Ginebra. </p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameBorder="0" height="100%" id="ivsplayer01" scrolling="no" src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/html/iframe-src.html?iframeid=ivsplayer01&amp;key=e8c22c015ca9eafa76f1e3edfa03c603&amp;spid=3001339&amp;vid=2420359" width="100%"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more News on <a href="https://www.iwanttfc.com/#!/browse/Genres/News/tag_id_genres/id_news" target="_blank">iWantTFC</a></div><div> </div>
