&quot;The Cobra&quot; has sunk his teeth into the United States fight scene.Genisis Libranza, 25, has finally gotten a taste of the big lights in the US. The Davao City native was successful in his debut on American soil, winning a unanimous decision against Mexican-American foe Gilberto Mendoza on Saturday.The two battled in a flyweight match in the undercard of the Showtime&#x27;s premier boxing champions Gervonta Davis-Hugo Ruiz fight card.&quot;Grabe, todo support sila sa Pilipino boxer, kaya masaya ako. Ganito result ng debut ko sa US,&quot; Libranza said after his match.Libranza displayed his power, landing solid body shots throughout the eight-round affair. Mendoza managed to take the punches, however, and the two had some heated exchanges in the Dignity Health Sports Park.&quot;Hindi ako maka-counter, kasi &#x27;yung kalaban ko tumatakbo,&quot; said Libranza. &quot;So ako na mag-adjust na sumugod sa kanya.&quot;With the result, Libranza&#x27;s record now stands at 18 wins and 1 loss – with his lone loss a 2016 world title shot in South Africa against Moruti Mthalane.Libranza is promoted by Manny Pacquiao&#x27;s MP Promotions.He will now go back to the Philippines for a couple of weeks, then return to the United States where he will fight again in the spring.For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com">ABS-CBN Sports website</a>.
