<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2016/sports/beach-volleyball.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">(L-R) Grethcel Soltones, Alyssa Eroa, and Dangie Encarnacion helped San Sebastian win a third straight women&#x27;s beach volleyball title. <em>Handout photo</em></div></figcaption></figure></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6">MANILA, Philippines – San Sebastian College&#x27;s Grethcel Soltones and Alyssa Eroa pulled off a vengeful 14-21, 21-9, 15-6 win over San Beda College twins Maria Jeziela and Maria Nieza Viray to clinch their third straight title in the NCAA Season 91 beach volleyball tournament in Subic last Sunday.</span></div><p>Soltones clinched her third straight women&#x27;s title while also winning the MVP trophy, but it was the diminutive yet big-hearted Eroa – a libero in the school&#x27;s indoor volleyball squad – who stepped up by filling in the vacuum left by Dangie Encarnacion.</p><p>Encarnacion suffered a deep cut on her chin after a bad fall in the elimination round when they were playing the Viray twins. That opened the door for Eroa, who meshed well with Soltones and made the title run possible.</p><p>&quot;We wouldn&#x27;t have done it without her,&quot; Soltones said of Eroa. &quot;She was a really important part of this championship.&quot;</p><p>It was the Lady Stags&#x27; third straight championship, and their sixth beach volleyball title overall – the most in the league.</p><p>READ: <strong><a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com/ncaa/news/2016/02/14/mvp-soltones-leads-lady-stags-3rd-beach-volleyball-title-8814">MVP Soltones leads Lady Stags to 3rd Beach Volleyball title</a></strong></p><p>It also somewhat soothed the pain of the Lady Stags&#x27; failed attempt at an indoor volleyball crown following a heartbreaking loss to De La Salle-College of St. Benilde a month ago.</p><p>&quot;I guess we don&#x27;t want to lose again,&quot; said Soltones, who also won the MVP in the indoor volleyball tournament but could not lift San Sebastian to the championship.</p><p>It was also San Sebastian&#x27;s second title in beach volleyball this year, after its high school team dethroned last season&#x27;s champion, Emilio Aguinalod College, with a 20-22, 21-19, 15-13 win in the finals.</p><p>The Junior Stags claimed their second championship since ruling the event six years ago.
