UAAP Media</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE) Far Eastern University (FEU) swept past University of the East (UE) in straight sets for a triumphant start to their campaign in the UAAP Season 82 men&#x27;s volleyball tournament, Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.JJ Javelona took charge down the stretch as the Tamaraws seized a 25-10, 25-22, 25-23 victory over the Red Warriors.Javelona scored FEU&#x27;s final 4 points of the match after UE threatened to extend the game by taking a 23-21 lead. But the young spiker was unstoppable, overwhelming the Red Warriors&#x27; net defense to push the Tams to victory.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/uaap/news/2020/03/03/uaap-season-82-mangulabnan-set-make-tigresses-debut-66619">READ: Mangulabnan set to make Tigresses debut</a></li></ul>&quot;Magandang opportunity na ginrab naman ng team. Kaya naman kami pumunta dito, to get the the game, so the team is so blessed na nakuha namin,&quot; FEU coach Rei Diaz said afterward.Javelona, the UAAP Juniors Most Valuable Player in Season 81, finished with 11 points in his seniors debut. Peter Quiel added 10 points, while skipper JP Bugaoan scored 4 of his 8 points off kill blocks. Veteran Jude Garcia added 9 points.After cruising to victory in the opening set, the Tamaraws figured in a nip-and-tuck second frame that saw the Red Warriors stay within striking distance all throughout. UE was within two points, 22-20, after a crosscourt hit by Jovel Abangan that prompted Diaz to sue for time. But the Tamaraws finished the set strong, with hits from Garcia and Mark Calado helping them fend off the Red Warriors.FEU appeared to be cruising to victory after taking an 11-5 lead in Set 3, but the Red Warriors roared back, thanks in part to the Tamaraws&#x27; mistakes and the steady hitting of Kenneth Culabat. UE surged ahead, 23-21, when Lloyd Josafat fired an ace.Javelona took over from there, however, scoring the last four points to drag the Tamaraws to the finish line. &quot;Noong third set, parang nagkagulo kami, tapos ayun, nag-compose lang kami, tapos ayun nakuha namin &#x27;yung panalo,&quot; said the freshman.FEU had 37 kills to UE&#x27;s 28, and tallied 11 blocks.
