The Falcons remained unbeaten in the second round to improve their standing to 5-6 for fourth spot, while the Growling Tigers suffered a third straight loss for a 3-8 card. Carrying the momentum from a rousing upset win over the UP Fighting Maroons, Adamson pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring UST 25-12. The Falcons clamped down on the Tigers, limiting them to just a single field goal in the first eight minutes of the third. Adamson went 13 of 17 at the free-throw line in the third quarter alone for a substantial cushion. Jerom Lastimosa scored off a tip in the 2:35 of the third to go up 61-44. Adamson continued its aggressiveness in the fourth, stretching its lead further after a three-pointer by Ricky Peromingan at the 5:48 mark, 77-54. Lastimosa tallied a career-high 24 points aside from six rebounds and three steals. The Tigers made a gallant stand in the final four minutes with a 15-1 run sparked by the three freebies by Paul Manalang and a 15-footer of Joshua Fontanilla. Fontanilla also recorded a career-high 23 points, while Nicael Cabanero had 13.
