Floyd Mayweather Jr. talks to reporters upon his arrival in Manila. Val Cuenca, ABS-CBN News

MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather Jr. was quick to shut down the notion of a possible rematch with Manny Pacquiao when he arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning.

"I'm an old man now," said Mayweather, who touched down around 3 a.m. via a private jet. "There's no more fighting for Floyd Mayweather."

Mayweather retired last year with a perfect 50-0 record, after knocking out former UFC star Conor McGregor in a lucrative bout.

This does not mean that boxing is completely off Mayweather's agenda for his visit to Manila.

"I would love to sign some upcoming talent, upcoming Filipino talent," Mayweather told Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News.

"I would love to work with them – myself and Mayweather Promotions," he added.

According to its website, Mayweather Promotions has 37 fighters in its stable.

Aside from scouting Filipino boxing talent, Mayweather said he is in the country to have fun.

He was quite vague when asked about possibly meeting Pacquiao, whom he beat when they fought in May 2015.

"I would like to meet all the great people in the Philippines," said Mayweather.
