Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>BOCAUE, Bulacan – The United States women&#x27;s team, bannered by collegiate stars from the University of Oregon, has been nothing short of dominant in the group round of the 2018 FIBA 3x3 Basketball World Cup at the Philippine Arena.Seeded 13th among 20 teams, the Americans simply rolled through their Pool C schedule. They crushed Iran (21-7), Andorra (21-6), and Uganda (22-9) to set up a blockbuster showdown with defending champion Russia on Monday afternoon.Against the fifth-seeded Russians, the Americans still proved to be too much. Sabrina Ionescu – the all-time NCAA women&#x27;s leader in triple-doubles – scored 11 points on four close-range shots, two two-pointers, and three free throws.They won in comfortable fashion, 21-13, to complete a sweep of Pool C and clinch a ticket to the quarterfinals. Russia dropped to 3-1 in pool play.&quot;I think it was definitely a big win for us,&quot; said Erin Boley, who previously represented the United States in the Under-18 3x3 World Cup in 2015. &quot;But now, we&#x27;re just focused on one game at a time.&quot;&quot;I&#x27;m really proud of how far we&#x27;ve come,&quot; added Ionescu, who was the MVP of the USA Basketball Women&#x27;s 3x3 National Championship in April, where the Ducks went unbeaten and earned the right to represent the United States in the World Cup.&quot;I think we have a lot more to improve on and get better on,&quot; Ionescu also said. &quot;But we&#x27;re just excited to be here, and really enjoying the Philippines and the experience that we have had these last few days.&quot;<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/basketball/news/2018/06/10/3x3wc-afril-standing-invite-play-taipei-school-42775">READ: Afril has standing invite to play in Taipei school</a></li></ul>Being collegiate teammates is a major advantage to the Americans, who are one of the youngest teams in the competition yet knocked off a Russian squad that featured three players from last year&#x27;s championship team.Ionescu, Otiona Gildon, and Ruth Hebard had played together in the Oregon squad that reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament earlier this year, before falling to No. 1 seed and eventual national champion University of Notre Dame.&quot;Playing had been really fun for us especially being teammates and traveling the world together. And being able to represent the United States of America has been an honor,&quot; said Ionescu, who averaged 19.7 points and 7.8 assists per game for Oregon last season.&quot;It&#x27;s always good to continue playing with your teammates, especially because we know each other, our strengths and weaknesses,&quot; said Gildon. &quot;Being able to come here and show the world what we can do is awesome.&quot;Team USA will play the second-seeded team in Pool A in the crossover quarterfinals, which may either be Czech Republic or Italy based on how the competition in that group is going.However, Ionescu and her teammates are not dwelling too much on their opponents or the pressure that comes after such a dominant campaign in the group round.&quot;We have internal expectations for ourselves,&quot; she explained. &quot;I don&#x27;t think we really focus on any external expectations.&quot; &quot;So I think we&#x27;re focusing on what we can do better, and continue to get better each day as a unit and individually,&quot; Ionescu added.<div>For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com">ABS-CBN Sports website</a>.</div>
