The game between Navotas Uni-Pak Sardines and Rizal Golden Coolers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup ended abruptly on Tuesday after the game venue was declared “non-playable.”

The Navotas Sports Complex was hosting its third game for the night between the home team and Rizal when the MPBL management, headed by commissioner Kenneth Duremdes had to call for a stop in the game after two quarters.

The reason? The floor became too slippery due to the humidity inside the court.

According to Fox Sports, the venue did not have air conditioning. That coupled with the bad weather outside, caused the wooden floors to moisten.

Navotas was leading the game, 56-39, before the game was stopped. Duremdes said the game will resume at the end of the elimination round.

In the first two games, Quezon City overwhelmed Binan, 110-85, while General Santos drubbed Marikina, 96-89.

Aaron Black was impressive in the QC Capitals' win, dishing out a triple double of 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Mike Williams and Pamboy Raymundo, meanwhile teamed up to quash Marikina. Williams had 26 points and 13 board, while Raymundo added 21 markers.
