Naredo @ Asian Games (@camillenaredo) <a href="https://twitter.com/camillenaredo/status/1033943449794359297?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 27, 2018</a></blockquote><div><script async="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charSet="utf-8" type="text/javascript"></script></div><p>Heo Ilyoung, Kim Junyl and Jeon Junbeom took turns hitting from downtown to methodically pull away from the Philippines in the fourth, where the Koreans outscored coach Yeng Guiao and his crew 27-17.</p><p>Jordan Clarkson led the Philippines with 25 points.</p><p>Even with Clarkson and a balanced inside-outside attack, however, the Philippines succumbed — yet again — to an opponent long known for its cold-blooded shooting and mechanical efficiency.</p><p>But it wasn’t just on offense where coach Hur Jae and his crew dominated the Philippines, they seemed to also get to the loose balls and misses first, handing more scoring opportunities for Korea and consequently killing the Filipinos’ momentum.</p><p>Christian Standhardinger tallied 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Clarkson chipped in 8 rebounds playing a team-high 35 minutes.</p><p>Ricardo Ratliffe, Korea’s naturalized player who has PBA experience, finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds, doing damage in the paint in a near no-relief game playing 38 minutes.</p><p>The Philippines held an 8-point lead early in the second half, 54-46, but then allowed Korea to come back after a spate of turnovers and surrendering rebounds.</p><p>Near the end of the third quarter, Korea took a 64-62 lead before Clarkson’s 3-pointer put the Philippines narrowly ahead going into the fourth.</p><p>That’s when Korea started to heat up and build a double-digit lead the Filipinos would not recover from.</p><p>Guiao and his crew, ousted from a podium finish, try to salvage a fifth place in the classification stage.</p><p>For more sports coverage, visit the ABS-CBN <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com" target="_blank">Sports website.</a></p>
