<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="Adamson" s="" Vince="" Magbuhos="" celebrates="" after="" hitting="" the="" game-winning="" three-pointer="" against="" Ateneo="" in="" UAAP="" Season="" basketball="" October="" at="" Araneta="" Coliseum.="" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/sports/10/07/uaap-866-mbb-admu-vs-adu-vince-magbuhos.jpg"/><figcaption>Adamson&#x27;s Vince Magbuhos celebrates after hitting the game-winning three-pointer against Ateneo in the UAAP Season 86 men&#x27;s basketball tournament, October 7, 2023 at the Araneta Coliseum.<em> UAAP Media.</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — Adamson University stunned the defending champions to post their second win of the UAAP season.</p><p>The Soaring Falcons downed Ateneo de Manila University, 74-71, at the UAAP Season 86 Men’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. </p><p>Eli Ramos and Ced Manzano poured in 12 points each, with the former adding three assists, two steals, and two rebounds, and the latter posting 12 boards and two blocks.</p><p>Birthday boy Magbuhos also finished in double digits after delivering 11 points, three came from three-point area, three assists, three rebounds, and a steal.</p><p>Tied at 71 with 3.3 seconds remaining in overtime, Vince Magbuhos drained a booming triple straight to the hearts of the Blue Eagles to send them to their second defeat in three games. </p><p>Before this, a scorching opening salvo from Ateneo allowed them to be up by as much as 19 early in the game, but the San Marcelino-based squad used a 19-9 third quarter to get to as close as two, 46-48, in the same period.</p><p>The Blue Eagles regained their footing in the fourth frame, extending their lead to 10 once again, 60-50, after a three-pointer by Kai Ballungay at the 7:10 mark of the fourth.</p><p>A pair of free-throw makes by Eli Ramos allowed the Soaring Falcons to get to as close as a single possession, 66-69, with still 1:24 in the fourth, and this was followed by a booming triple by Matthew Montebon at the 29.4 mark which sent the game into OT. </p><p>Mason Amos paced Ateno with 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals, while Kai Ballungay contributed 10 markers and nine rebounds. </p><p>The Soaring Falcons are scheduled to battle De La Salle University on October 11 at 5 PM, while the Blue Eagles will be facing University of the East on the same date at 1 PM.</p><p>Both contests are scheduled to be played at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.</p><p>The Scores: </p><p>Adamson 74 - Ramos 12, Manzano 12, Magbuhos 11, Hanapi 9, Yerro 8, Calisay 5, Montebon 5, Colonia 4, Anabo 3, Erolon 3, Sabandal 2, Ojarikre 0, Barasi 0. </p><p>Ateneo 71 - Amos 12, Ballungay 10, Koon 9, Nieto 9, Obasa 8, Brown 6, Gomez 6, Bongon 6, Espinosa 2, Credo 2, Quitevis 1, Chiu 0, Lazaro 0. </p><p>Quarterscores: 9-25, 29-44, 48-53, 69-69, 74-71.</p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameBorder="0" height="100%" id="ivsplayer01" scrolling="no" src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/html/iframe-src.html?iframeid=ivsplayer01&amp;key=e8c22c015ca9eafa76f1e3edfa03c603&amp;spid=3001339&amp;vid=2833575" width="100%"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more News on <a href="https://www.iwanttfc.com/#!/browse/Genres/News/tag_id_genres/id_news" target="_blank">iWantTFC</a></div>
