Photo courtesy of ABS-CBN News Pampanga</figcaption></figure></div>CAPAS, Tarlac -- Swim, bike, and run.These were the tasks that the 300 kiddie athletes must finish in the first-ever triathlon held at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac on Saturday.Organized by Go Clark Sports and Events and Bases Conversion And Development Authority, the children were divided based on their age group.Those aged 8 to 10 must finish a 100-meter swim, 6-kilometer bike ride and 1.5-km run, while those in the 11 to 14-year-old age group must complete the 300-meter swim, 10-km bike ride and 4-km run.“So parang &#x27;yung effort po nila parang &#x27;yung effort na ginawa din ng mga adults.... When we start them young, may tsansa po silang maging (part ng) national team later on,” race director Jumbo Tayag said.Shem Dizon was the first boy to finish the race in the 8- to 10 year-old category.“I learned how to do those three sports so they let me join the aquathon first, then triathlon,&quot; he said.“Nung na fell in love kami sa sports na triathlon, what we did was sumali kami and then we make sure na ma-influence namin siya,” said Shem&#x27;s father, John Clave.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/seagames/news/2019/10/19/success-didn-t-come-overnight-yulo-petecio-obiena-62206">READ: Success didn&#x27;t come overnight for Yulo, Petecio and Obiena</a></li></ul>Samantha Gualtad, on the other hand, won first place in the girls 8-10 age category.She said it’s her first time to join in a triathlon race.“Ginagawa ko lang po best ko,” she said.<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/tvpatrol/10/08/20191020-2.jpg"/><figcaption>Athletes participated in a triathlon in New Clark City. Photo courtesy of Bases Conversion And Development Authority.</figcaption></figure></div>Meanwhile, on Sunday, more than 700 adults participated in the major triathlon race.One of the participants is 2017 Southeast Asian Games men’s triathlon silver medalist John “Rambo” Chicano, who is the Philippines’ top bet for this year’s 30th Southeast Asian Games.The BCDA said this is also the first time that the new sports complex was opened to the public.It added that the race was another opportunity to test the sports facilities before the 30th SEA Games which will be held from November 30 to December 11.<div>For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com">ABS-CBN Sports website</a>.</div>
