ANTIPOLO—Ateneo de Manila University put on a master class of beautiful basketball at Ynares Center here Saturday, pounding National University for an 88-51 win and putting the Blue Eagles one win away from a sweep of the elimination round of UAAP 82 men&#x27;s basketball.The Blue Eagles saw the Bulldogs score the first basket of the game, but that was the last taste of the lead for NU as the defending champions imposed their will from there.After JV Gallego&#x27;s layup to commence the contest, Ateneo scored 11 unanswered points with four different players contributing.That ultimately became an 18-4 run punctuated by Gian Mamuyac&#x27;s triple that wrested control over to their side for good.Ateneo increased its lead to as many as 37 late courtesy of Troy Mallillin&#x27;s reverse layup.The discipline at both ends of the floor was yet again in full effect, but Ateneo also got for itself more than a few highlights and wound up with the most dunks in a single game for any team this season.Hammering away at their long-eliminated opponents all game long, the Blue Eagles flew to a 13-0 standing.If they beat University of the Philippines at Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday, they automatically advance to the finals and force a stepladder playoffs.For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com">ABS-CBN Sports website</a>.
